Model Essay #1:

Capital punishment is essential to control violence and crime in society. Without enforcing capital punishment like dead sentence our life would become less secure and the number of crime and violence in society would increase. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, has been a topic of debate for many years. Some people argue that it is necessary for controlling crime and violence in society. However, I disagree with this view. I believe that there are better ways to address crime and violence, and that capital punishment is not an effective solution.

Firstly, there is no clear evidence to suggest that capital punishment deters crime. Many studies have shown that the threat of the death penalty does not significantly reduce the incidence of serious crimes. In fact, some research has indicated that there may be other factors, such as socioeconomic conditions and access to education, that have a greater impact on crime rates. Therefore, it is not logical to claim that capital punishment is essential for controlling violence and crime.

Secondly, the justice system is not infallible, and there have been cases where innocent people have been wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death. Once a person has been executed, there is no way to reverse the decision if new evidence comes to light. This raises serious ethical concerns about the use of capital punishment.

Moreover, many countries and regions have abolished the death penalty and have seen a decrease in crime rates. For example, in Europe, where most countries have abolished capital punishment, crime rates are generally lower compared to countries where the death penalty is still in use.

In conclusion, I strongly disagree with the idea that capital punishment is essential for controlling violence and crime in society. There are more effective and ethical ways to address these issues, such as improving social and economic conditions, providing better access to education, and reforming the justice system. Therefore, it is important to consider alternative approaches rather than relying on the death penalty.

Model Essay #2:

Capital punishment is essential to control violence and crime in society. Without enforcing capital punishment like dead sentence our life would become less secure and the number of crime and violence in society would increase. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

While some people argue that capital punishment is not essential for controlling violence and crime in society, I strongly believe that it plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order. Without the enforcement of the death penalty, our lives would become less secure, and the number of crimes and violence in society would likely increase.

Firstly, the fear of facing the death penalty can act as a deterrent for potential criminals. Knowing that they could face the ultimate consequence for their actions, individuals may think twice before committing serious offenses. This can contribute to a safer environment for law-abiding citizens and serve as a warning to those who may be considering criminal activities.

Moreover, capital punishment is necessary for delivering justice to the victims and their families. In cases of heinous crimes, such as murder or terrorism, the imposition of the death penalty provides a sense of closure and retribution for the affected individuals. It sends a strong message that society does not tolerate such egregious acts and seeks to uphold the rights of the victims.

Additionally, the existence of the death penalty serves as a powerful tool for maintaining law and order within society. It sends a clear signal that certain actions will not be tolerated, thereby instilling a sense of accountability and responsibility in individuals. This can contribute to a more disciplined and lawful society, where people are mindful of the consequences of their actions.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that capital punishment is essential for controlling violence and crime in society. It acts as a deterrent, delivers justice to victims, and maintains law and order. While there may be debates about its implementation, the death penalty serves as a critical element in ensuring the safety and security of communities.
