Model Essay #1:

In the bygone days, many had skills such as making their own clothes and doing repairs to things in the house. In many countries, nowadays, skills like these are disappearing. Why do you think this is happening?

In the past, people had various practical skills such as sewing their own clothes and fixing household items. However, in recent times, these skills are gradually disappearing in many countries. There are several reasons for this trend, and it is also true in my country.

One reason for the decline in practical skills is the availability of convenient alternatives. With the rise of fast fashion and affordable clothing, many people find it easier to buy new clothes rather than making them. Similarly, the prevalence of inexpensive, disposable goods makes it more convenient to replace items rather than repairing them. As a result, the incentive to learn and practice these traditional skills diminishes.

Another factor contributing to the disappearance of practical skills is the lack of emphasis on vocational education. Modern education systems often prioritize academic subjects over practical skills, leading to a decline in the transmission of traditional knowledge. Additionally, the growing reliance on technology has led to a shift in focus towards digital and technical skills, further marginalizing traditional crafts and repairs.

In my country, this situation is indeed true. Many young people are more inclined towards pursuing academic qualifications and careers in technology or business, rather than learning practical skills. As a result, there is a noticeable decline in the number of individuals who possess the ability to sew, knit, or repair household items.

In conclusion, the disappearance of practical skills such as making clothes and doing household repairs is a result of the availability of convenient alternatives, the lack of emphasis on vocational education, and the shift towards technology-focused skills. This trend is evident in my country as well, as traditional skills are gradually being replaced by modern pursuits.

Model Essay #2:

In the bygone days, many had skills such as making their own clothes and doing repairs to things in the house. In many countries, nowadays, skills like these are disappearing. Why do you think this is happening?

In the past, many people were proficient in practical skills such as crafting clothes and performing household repairs. However, the decline of these skills in many countries today can be attributed to several reasons. Contrary to popular belief, the situation of disappearing practical skills is not entirely true in my country, as there are still individuals who value and practice these traditional crafts.

One reason for the decline in practical skills is the shift towards a more urbanized and fast-paced lifestyle. In today's modern society, people are often pressed for time and may find it more convenient to purchase ready-made clothes and replace broken items rather than repairing them. This change in lifestyle preferences has contributed to a decreased emphasis on traditional skills.

Furthermore, the lack of exposure and interest among younger generations has also led to the disappearance of practical skills. With the prevalence of mass-produced goods and the availability of professional repair services, many individuals no longer see the need to acquire these skills. As a result, the transmission of traditional knowledge from older generations to younger ones has declined.

However, in my country, there are still communities and individuals who value and actively practice practical skills. Traditional crafts such as weaving, pottery, and woodworking are still preserved and passed down through generations in certain regions. Additionally, there is a growing movement to revive and promote these skills through workshops, artisan markets, and educational programs.

In conclusion, while the disappearance of practical skills such as making clothes and performing household repairs is evident in many countries due to lifestyle changes and lack of interest among younger generations, my country still holds onto these skills in certain communities. Efforts to preserve and promote traditional crafts and repairs are underway, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining these valuable skills for future generations.
