Model Essay #1:

Nowadays people live in the society where consumer goods are cheaper to buy. Do you think its advantages outweigh disadvantages?

In today's society, consumer goods have become more affordable, making it easier for people to purchase them. While this trend has its benefits, there are also drawbacks to consider. In my opinion, the advantages of cheaper consumer goods outweigh the disadvantages.

On the positive side, the availability of affordable consumer goods has improved the standard of living for many individuals. People can now access a wider range of products that were previously out of their financial reach. For example, electronic devices such as smartphones and laptops have become more affordable, allowing more people to stay connected and access information.

Furthermore, the lower prices of consumer goods have also contributed to economic growth. As more people can afford to buy goods, there is an increase in demand, which in turn stimulates production and creates job opportunities. This cycle of consumption and production fuels the economy and leads to overall prosperity.

However, the affordability of consumer goods has its downsides. One major concern is the impact on the environment. Cheaper goods often result in increased consumption and waste, leading to environmental degradation. For instance, the production and disposal of cheap, low-quality clothing contribute to pollution and waste.

In conclusion, while there are drawbacks to the availability of cheaper consumer goods, such as environmental concerns, the benefits in terms of improved living standards and economic growth are significant. Therefore, I believe that the advantages of affordable consumer goods outweigh the disadvantages.

Model Essay #2:

Nowadays people live in the society where consumer goods are cheaper to buy. Do you think its advantages outweigh disadvantages?

In today's society, the affordability of consumer goods has made it easier for people to make purchases. While this development has its positive aspects, I believe that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

On the one hand, the accessibility of cheaper consumer goods has allowed individuals to enjoy a higher standard of living. Many people can now afford items that were previously considered luxury goods. For example, household appliances and electronic devices are now within reach for a larger portion of the population.

However, the downside of cheaper consumer goods cannot be overlooked. One major concern is the impact on local industries and small businesses. When cheaper imported goods flood the market, it becomes challenging for local producers to compete, leading to unemployment and the decline of traditional industries. This can have a detrimental effect on the overall economy.

Furthermore, the availability of cheap consumer goods has also led to overconsumption and a throwaway culture. People are more inclined to buy cheap, low-quality items that are quickly discarded, leading to environmental degradation and waste. For instance, the production and disposal of inexpensive clothing contribute to pollution and resource depletion.

In conclusion, while the affordability of consumer goods has improved the standard of living for many, the negative consequences such as the decline of local industries and environmental degradation outweigh the benefits. Therefore, I believe that the disadvantages of cheaper consumer goods outweigh the advantages.
