In the contemporary world, there is a growing belief that communication has become less personal due to the prevalence of email and telephone. However, I disagree with this notion for several reasons.
Firstly, email and telephone have actually made it easier for people to stay connected despite physical distance. For example, a person living in one country can easily communicate with a friend or family member living in a different country through email or phone calls. This allows for continued personal interactions and maintains the warmth of relationships, even when people are not physically present.
Secondly, these communication tools have enhanced efficiency and convenience in daily interactions. In the past, sending a letter by mail could take days or even weeks to reach its recipient, while now an email can deliver a message instantly. Similarly, telephone calls allow for real-time conversations, bridging the gap between individuals and making communication more effective and immediate.
Moreover, the use of email and telephone does not necessarily diminish the personal nature of communication. With the advancement of technology, video calls have become increasingly popular, enabling face-to-face interactions even when individuals are in different locations. This allows for not only verbal but also non-verbal communication, maintaining the personal touch in conversations.
In conclusion, I believe that email and telephone have not made communication among people less personal.
