Model Essay #1:

Some people say that parents have the most important role in a child’s development. However, others argue that other things like television or friends have the most significant influence.

Some people believe that parents play the most crucial role in a child's development, while others argue that external factors such as television and friends have a more significant influence. In my opinion, both parents and external influences play important roles in a child's development.

On one hand, parents are undeniably influential in a child's development. They are the primary caregivers and are responsible for providing love, guidance, and support. Children often model their behavior and attitudes after their parents, and parental involvement in a child's life can greatly impact their emotional and cognitive development. For example, children whose parents are actively involved in their education tend to perform better academically and have higher self-esteem.

On the other hand, external factors like television and friends also have a substantial impact on a child's development. Television, for instance, can shape a child's perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. Excessive screen time and exposure to violent or inappropriate content can negatively affect a child's social and emotional development. Similarly, friends and peers can influence a child's behavior and choices, especially during adolescence when peer pressure is strong.

In my view, both parental influence and external factors are crucial in shaping a child's development. While parents provide the foundation for a child's growth, external influences contribute to their socialization and worldview. As a result, it is essential for parents to be mindful of the external influences their child is exposed to and to actively engage in open communication and guidance.

In conclusion, while some argue that parents have the most significant impact on a child's development, others believe that external influences like television and friends play a crucial role. I believe that both factors are influential, and a balanced approach that prioritizes parental guidance while considering external influences is essential for a child's holistic development.

Model Essay #2:

Some people say that parents have the most important role in a child’s development. However, others argue that other things like television or friends have the most significant influence.

Some people argue that parents have the most essential role in shaping a child's development, while others contend that external influences such as television and friends wield a greater influence. In my opinion, the impact of parents on a child's development is paramount, yet external factors also play a significant role.

Firstly, parents are the primary caregivers and role models for their children. They provide emotional support, guidance, and nurture their child's growth and development. A child's attachment to their parents during their formative years can greatly influence their emotional well-being and social skills. For example, studies have shown that children who receive consistent love and support from their parents tend to have higher self-esteem and better interpersonal relationships.

However, it is undeniable that external influences like television and friends also contribute to a child's development. Television programs and media can shape a child's attitudes, values, and behaviors. Moreover, friends and peers can have a profound impact on a child's choices and actions, especially during adolescence when peer influence is strong.

In my view, while external influences have a role to play, the impact of parents on a child's development cannot be overstated. Parental involvement, support, and guidance provide the foundation for a child's growth and well-being. It is essential for parents to be mindful of the external influences their child is exposed to and to actively engage in open communication and guidance.

In conclusion, while some argue that external factors like television and friends have the most significant impact on a child's development, I believe that parents play the most crucial role. Nonetheless, it is important to recognize the influence of external factors and for parents to create a supportive environment that balances the impact of external influences.
