Model Essay #1:

Some people think if students are afraid of the teacher it is better. Others say that having a friendly relationship between the teachers and students is better. What do you think?

In my opinion, having a friendly relationship between teachers and students is better than a fearful one. Firstly, a friendly environment promotes open communication and trust. Students are more likely to ask questions and seek help when they feel comfortable with their teachers. For example, in my own experience, I found it easier to approach my friendly teachers with my academic concerns and felt more motivated to participate in class discussions.

Secondly, a friendly relationship between teachers and students can lead to a more positive learning experience. When students feel valued and supported by their teachers, they are more likely to be engaged in the learning process. Research has shown that positive teacher-student relationships can improve students' academic performance and overall well-being. For instance, a study conducted at a high school found that students who had positive relationships with their teachers showed higher levels of motivation and better academic outcomes.

On the other hand, a fearful environment can create anxiety and hinder students' learning. When students are afraid of their teachers, they may be less likely to ask for help or express their opinions. This can lead to a lack of confidence and a negative attitude towards learning. In contrast, a friendly relationship fosters a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking academic risks.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that a friendly relationship between teachers and students is more beneficial. It creates a positive learning environment, encourages open communication, and enhances students' overall experience in school. Therefore, I support the idea of promoting friendly and supportive relationships between teachers and students.

Model Essay #2:

Some people think if students are afraid of the teacher it is better. Others say that having a friendly relationship between the teachers and students is better. What do you think?

In my view, it is better for students to have a healthy level of fear or respect for their teachers rather than a friendly relationship. Firstly, a certain level of fear can instill discipline and respect for authority. Students who are too comfortable with their teachers may become unruly and disrespectful, leading to disruptions in the classroom. For example, in some cultures where there is a high level of respect for teachers, students tend to be more disciplined and focused on their studies.

Moreover, a bit of fear can motivate students to work harder and strive for excellence. When students have a healthy level of respect or fear for their teachers, they are more likely to take their studies seriously and work diligently to meet academic expectations. This can lead to better academic performance and a more conducive learning environment. In contrast, a friendly relationship might lead to a lack of seriousness and dedication towards studies.

On the other hand, a friendly relationship between teachers and students can sometimes blur the lines of authority and lead to a lack of discipline in the classroom. When teachers try to befriend their students, it can be challenging to maintain order and control. This can result in a chaotic learning environment where academic progress is hindered.

In conclusion, I support the idea that a healthy level of fear or respect for teachers is better for students. It promotes discipline, respect for authority, and a more focused approach to learning. While a friendly relationship has its merits, it can sometimes lead to a lack of discipline and focus in the academic setting. Therefore, I believe that a balanced approach, with a certain level of fear and respect, is more beneficial for students.
